My rescued Foxy-X Dewy reacts exactly the same way as Zani – I always thought it was fearfulness or naughtyness, but it’s quite clear now it’s a personal space issue. I’ve had problems teaching him recall and getting him close enough to clip the lead on him and I found crouching down has helped. It makes sense now to break down each action and work on them separately to get him to come closer to me.
